VIRTUAL WAREHOUSE OPENS IN PALM BEACH COUNTY!
11-11-2006
Palm Beach Gardens - After months of work, Homeland Compassion and Neighbors to the Rescue, are pleased to announce that the Virtual Warehouse in Palm Beach County is operational! Funded through a grant given by the Hurricane Relief Fund and Volunteer Florida, Homeland Compassion is excited about the impact the Virtual Warehouse will have on citizens of the county who are in need.
Originally established in Palm Beach County to assist those individuals adversely affected by Hurricane Wilma, the goal now of the warehouse is to redistribute surplus to those in need.
Disaster and crisis begin and end at the local level. Hurricanes, fires, floods, homelessness, family separation, illness and poverty force individuals and families to reestablish their homes, often with nothing.
Area organizations and churches are invited to participate in two ways. Goods and services may be donated online using the simple form provided. Leaders within the organizations who regularly assist famillies in crisis may apply for access to the warehouse to reserve those items that are needed.
